The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, strong communication skills, and the ability to assist with a variety of tasks in the classroom. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with both the teaching staff and students to help create a positive and productive learning environment. About the school… Situated in a lovely rural Shropshire town, the 11-16 school offer outstanding facilities, with the aim to provide an outstanding educational experiences for all pupils. The students are given a voice and genuine opportunities to get involved with positive changes to their learning experiences. Rated GOOD at the previous OFSTED, the school are hoping to secure the right candidate to join their team. The school have a specialist Hub, supporting students with mainstream lessons, but with the option for holistic and therapeutic interventions to meet individual needs. Key Responsibilities… Assist the lead teacher with classroom management and student supervision. Support students individually or in small groups with their academic work, offering additional explanations or practice. Help set up materials, equipment, and resources for lessons and activities. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher on student performance and behaviour. Prepare classroom displays, bulletin boards, and visual aids. Assist with administrative duties, such as grading assignments, recording attendance, and preparing learning materials. Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom environment by supporting students’ social and emotional well-being. Assist with the integration of technology into lessons and activities. Collaborate with other staff members to support the overall educational goals of the school. Ensure safety and well-being of students during classroom activities and breaks. Qualifications and requirements… Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational or care setting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with students of varying abilities and backgrounds. Basic knowledge of classroom management techniques. Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing classroom dynamics. A passion for education and helping students succeed. Experience with SEN advantageous.
