About the role: Join our team at BSI's Product Certification Division as an Inventory Controller Located at our Loughborough testing laboratory, this role is pivotal in maintaining our logistical function. You will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring effective control of test samples and assets to support our testing teams. As the Inventory Controller your responsibilities include managing test samples, scientific equipment, and supporting the calibration function with logistical & referencing tasks. Taking ownership of this area, you will drive operational excellence and contribute to BSI's reputation for exceptional service delivery. Key Responsibilities: Managing the movement of test samples on site in our Stores/Warehouse. Organising the removal from site, post testing process (client return or responsible disposal). Collating and organising the collection/delivery of scientific test equipment to be sent away to third party service providers. Keep up to date, accurate records of test samples on site. Keep up to date, accurate records of assets calibration status. Delivering key information to our internal and external clients regarding sample/asset movements. Identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains within the working environment, and the affiliated processes. Ensuring a professional and standardised approach is developed and maintained so all processes follow the same path. Reporting status of Stores (How many samples are on site, status, out for sub-contracted work, etc). Reporting status of calibration assets (How many are out for calibration, forecasting, lead times, etc). Required Skills & Experience: Understanding of a stores/warehouse/logistics/asset control environment. Understanding of regulated/controlled working environments would be desirable. Good customer and internal stakeholder relation skills. Ability to work under own initiative, problem solve and innovate solutions. Interpersonal skills with people of varied backgrounds and seniority. Proficiency in using relevant business software tools e.g. MS Office and SAP. Forklift Truck experience would be highly desirable; however, training can be provided. Able to manual lift and move test samples using handling equipment.
