SEN Teaching Assistant Job Type: Full-time/Part-time Location: Sheffield Salary: Competitive Urgent Hiring: Immediate Start Available We are urgently seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our dynamic team, working in special needs schools. This role is crucial in supporting students with a range of special educational needs including learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), sensory, speech and language impairments, and behavioural difficulties. This position is both physically and emotionally rewarding and offers the chance to make a significant impact on students' lives. Day-to-day of the role: Preparing and adapting learning materials according to the individual needs of students. Providing one-to-one or small group support to enhance students' learning experiences and inclusion in classroom activities. Assisting in the implementation and monitoring of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) for students. Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure coordinated support and implementation of the EHCP. Working with speech and language therapists and maintaining accurate records of children’s development. Managing behaviour in the classroom to ensure a conducive learning environment. Ensuring the physical, social, and emotional welfare of students, creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in working with children with special educational needs is preferred. Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with learning disabilities, ASD, ADHD, and other special needs. Ability to adapt teaching materials and methods to meet the needs of individual students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals. Commitment to professional development and willingness to engage in further training and development. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
