Assistant Project Manager
Our client is looking for a Assistant Project Manager to join their team in Huddersfield. The consultancy specialises in a range of construction industry sectors. Their services include Highways Engineering and Programme Management supported by dedicated Project Management Service.
The team is looking for a Graduate Project Manager with a 'can do' attitude to provide support to the wider business. In this role, you will office based in Huddersfield and will be required to travel to construction and retail sites throughout the UK up to 25% of the time and will require your own car, insured for business use. Basic knowledge of the construction industry such as health & safety and CDM regulations is essential.The role is full time (37.5 hours per week).
Responsibilities of the role:
·To look at all areas of development, from inception to delivery, of various Construction / Retail related projects around the United Kingdom.
·Identifying appropriate power sources, mapping cable routes on plans and looking for optimum camera locations. Full training is provided.
·The role of PM requires the management of every aspect of the project from start to finish, the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of various projects working to a series of pre-determined goals and objectives always with the client's requirements in mind.
·It requires communication across all levels of management, to develop and establish a brief for the project that clearly defines all objectives.
·It also involves the setting of measurable objectives and timelines of all elements within the projects; and managing other consultant disciplines and contractors to ensure delivery to cost, time and quality standards.
·It is expected of this role to maintain records and work folders - ensuring all work is checked and appropriately approved for distribution.
·The job requires the managing of retail construction/redevelopment projects in a live environment.
Requirements of the Role:
·Educated to degree/HNC/HND or equivalent in relevant subject.
·Full driving license and own car with ability to travel within the UK.
·CSCS card - Black/gold/white (or possess the qualifications to achieve).
·Good IT skills, in particular Excel.
·Excellent communication skills.
·Excellent time management skills.
·Pro-active and self-motivated.
