The Major Projects Advisory (MPA) practice sits in Customer, Operations, and Infrastructure (CO&I): one of seven super service lines across KPMG's Advisory business. Operating from all over the UK we do work those matters, serving the Country with diligence and expertise.
"PACE" (Programme Advisory and Capital Excellence) is part of KPMG's Major Projects Advisory team - a multi-disciplinary team of cross-sector experts in complex project and programme delivery. We transform our clients' delivery capability and partner with them to deliver faster, cheaper, greener, and better. The Role
As a Director, this role provides strategic leadership to the team, working closely with other Directors and Partners to lead and develop our go to market strategy while being accountable for the high quality delivery to our clients. It is a highly accountable leadership role that requires you to wear many hats, but you'll be well supported by the rest of us.
Roles & Responsibilities
10. Leading the development of our growth strategy and developing high impact propositions to take to market
11. Building enduring sector relationships and becoming the go to person for our clients on relevant market opportunities
12. Collaborating closely with other KPMG capability and sector leads to build consensus on priority targets and activities
13. Senior leadership of complex client engagements, including the ability to operate effectively at Board level, providing robust insight to client problems
14. Overseeing the delivery of client deliverables, including having accountability for quality assurance and risk management
15. Being an inspirational leader; managing, coaching, mentoring and motivating your colleagues
16. Providing training, guidance and leadership to the junior team members
17. Having senior input into team headcount and recruitment decisions

For this opportunity, we're looking for someone with significant leadership experience in Project, Programme and Portfolio (P3M), delivering complex transformation in challenging environments. Ideally you will have transitioned from a delivery, controls or functional PM role into consulting, providing strategic advice at C-Suite level.

25. Designing and enhancing Project, Programme or Portfolio controls
26. Designing, establishing and leading transformation management offices (TMO) or project management offices (PMO)
27. Leading major programme/ project maturity assessment and assurance
28. Troubled Project/Programme reviews and implementing recovery plans
29. A proven history of operating as an effective leader in a complex P3M organisation and/or consulting firm with, primarily built around the leadership of major complex Projects/Programmes and transformational change
30. Proven experience of management and leadership of multi-disciplinary consulting teams of between 5-20 consultants
31. Broad capability and experience across business development, delivery and line management
32. Specialist Project, Programme and/or Portfolio management expertise, with proven delivery and a passion for the future of the profession
33. Ideally one or more sector experience in Infrastructure, Transport, Aerospace, Defence, Industrial, Financial Services, Utilities or Manufacturing preferred
34. Demonstrable experience of managing and influencing senior-level stakeholders, having built and sustained key relationships
35. Excellent commercial awareness with strong experience of owning and managing client accounts - alongside ownership and management of significant bids and proposals
36. Management and leadership of multi-disciplinary teams
37. Passion, resilience, adaptability and energy to make a difference, both internally and externally
38. A foundation of excellent academics and/or demonstrable career progression to date
39. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
40. Relevant professional certification - APM ChPP/PPQ; MoP; MSP; PRINCE2
