I am working with a well-established manufacturing business who are based in the Bristol area. They are looking for a new Maintenance Engineer to join their business following a period of expansion. The business has an established presence in their sector and a continuously increasing potential. Your new role
As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be directly responsible for planned preventative maintenance as well as reactionary maintenance. This role is an almost exclusively mechanically based role operating on a DuPont style shift pattern (12-hour rotating shift patterns, with a week off every four weeks). You will work in a team of two, divided between mechanical and electrical specialisms, working towards a TPM mentality. You will be tasked with diagnosing causes of equipment breakdown with a focus on a "First Time Fix" mentality to ensure 24/7 availability of production equipment.
1. Reduce equipment downtime.
2. Ensure procedures and health and safety requirements are always followed.
3. Using your initiative to carry out process improvements to improve equipment reliability.
4. Detailed recording of equipment history on computer systems and complete documentation as required.
5. Manage wastage to ensure it is kept to a minimum.
6. Liaise with and manage Service Contractors as and when needed.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this application for this Maintenance Engineer role, you must:
1. Strong mechanical skills are essential.
2. Be a time-served apprentice, electrical or mechanical.
3. Have a proven track record of maintenance in a factory setting.
4. It would be highly desired for you to have worked with pneumatics.
5. Have some machining experience.
6. Ability to collaborate with individuals at differing levels.
7. Be an independent analytical thinker.
