Job Title: Project Controls Manager

Salary: Up to £70,000 Depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
1. Providing practitioner capability in the establishment and maintenance of project control systems to support large, high value, projects
2. Applying your expert understanding of project controls techniques and knowledge of project controls toolsets (e.g., Earned Value Management, Risk, Change) to produce project controls deliverables
3. Leading and managing the production of various progress reports for presentation to senior management and customers to provide accurate and up to date project information to enable effective decision making
4. Supporting the Project Managers / Control Account Managers in managing cost, schedule and quality with associated data and metrics where required, as well as supporting in resolving emergent project issues and mitigating risks
5. Coaching and guiding others in the skillset of project controls
6. Delegating as required for Head of Project Controls and Planning
Your skills and experiences:
1. Experienced Project Controls Professional or Project Manager with extensive knowledge of project management (tools, techniques, practices)
2. Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to guide and influence senior stakeholders across Engineering, Supply Chain and Production, and guide and develop others in project control
3. Proficient understanding of project controls and data analysis toolsets (e.g., Tableau / Power BI, Primavera / planning toolsets, Risk management toolsets, Microsoft office suite)
4. Experience leading and managing a team within a project environment
5. Professional PM Qualification or practical experience gained through application of Project Management
6. Experience of earned value management
7. Knowledge of working within a complex engineering/production environment
The Project Controls Team:
Joining the River Class Destroyer Project Controls Team as the Project Controls Manager, you and your team will be supporting the Head of Project Controls and Planning on one of our complex major engineering programmes. You will get to work with a range of internal departments including engineering, procurement, and production to name a few.
