Right now, we are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor (Cost Recovery) to join our Customer Service Department on a permanent basis. This role will be based at our head office, working closely with the Customer Service, Finance, and Commercial teams to ensure efficient cost recovery and recharges.
About the Role…
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the recovery of Customer Service recharges across the business. You will work closely with the Commercial and Finance teams to recoup all contra charges from subcontractors, ensuring we maximise cost recovery.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Taking ownership of the Customer Service cost recovery process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
* Overseeing and reviewing the Customer Service Cost Recovery function to maintain financial accuracy.
* Working through a backdated log of notified Customer Service costs to ensure all recoverable charges are processed.
* Assisting the Commercial team with ad hoc tasks to support business operations.
* Ensuring reporting and control processes are delivered efficiently and in line with evolving business needs.
* Proactively suggesting improvements within Customer Service and Commercial functions to enhance efficiency.
What You’ll Need…
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive professional with strong organisational skills and a methodical approach to cost recovery.
You will have previous experience working in a Customer Service or Commercial environment, with a housebuilder or main contractor. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy in all aspects of your work, are essential. A meticulous approach to accuracy and attention to detail will be crucial in maintaining precise financial records and ensuring the efficient recovery of costs.
Additionally, it would be beneficial if you have experience using Evision software, Microsoft 365 Dynamics, or Clixifix.
