Production Manager Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Production Manager or aspiring supervisor to oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth plant functionality and high productivity. This role involves managing KPIs, improving processes, overseeing staff, and ensuring health and safety compliance.
Production Manager Key Responsibilities:
* Operational Support: Assist the Senior Manager with day-to-day operational issues to ensure smooth plant operations. Act as Deputy, taking day-to-day leadership of the business site when the Senior Manager is unavailable.
* KPI Monitoring & Implementation: Monitor and report on site-specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Implement KPIs and ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
* Process Improvement: Continuously develop processes and procedures alongside the Senior Manager as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
* Personnel Management & Staff Oversight: Assist with performance management for all shift production staff, in consultation with the Senior Manager. Oversee production staff recruitment, welfare, appraisals and disciplinary issues, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
* Health & Safety: Take an active role in implementing Health & Safety matters, focusing on safe working systems and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Ensure all Health & Safety requirements are adhered to.
* Productivity Monitoring: Review and maintain systems to monitor staff productivity, performance, and timekeeping through computerized systems.
* Linen Management: Oversee linen collection, washing, drying, and storage to ensure cleanliness, while managing stock levels, quality checks, and deliveries.
* Communication: Exhibit excellent communication skills, attention to detail, organization, and self-motivation.
* Meeting Leadership: Participate in meetings to review the progress of the Production Plan (daily/weekly), revise plans as necessary, and implement learnings.
* Collaboration: Liaise with the Senior Manager to ensure production plans are met or revise ways of working to ensure achievability.

Requirements:
* Proven experience in management or supervisor role.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
* Experience in implementation of health and safety regulations.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
