Do you have project management experience within a healthcare setting? Are you educated to master's level and are good at budgeting and planning? The role of Capital Projects Manager is for you.
Working alongside the Head of Capital Projects, Purchasing and Supplying, Health and Safety and the wider Estates team, you will develop and implement capital management policy and procedures, provide specialist advice on sustainable and healthcare designs.

Main duties of the job
1. Assist in the development of the Trust's Capital Programme and manage specific projects to improve the environment for patients and staff.
2. Commission and manage delegated Capital projects including work on business case development.
3. Lead project meetings (Steering Groups & Specialist Design Groups) linked to schemes within the programme.
4. Provide expert construction, programme, and cost advice throughout the Trust on behalf of the Head of Projects (Capital).
5. Engage in formal proactive knowledge management processes to utilize successful practices from NHS and non-NHS agencies.
6. Work with Head of Projects (Capital) to develop and implement capital management policies and procedures.
7. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of sustainable and healthcare-related design issues in construction.
Job responsibilities
1. Assisting in the development of long-term capital plans and procurement strategies.
2. Developing an Operational Plan for delivery of approved development schemes linked to the Trust's Estate Strategy.
3. Utilizing Computer Aided Design packages to design, plan and develop improvement schemes.
4. Providing information, designs and organizing improvement works as a key member of the Trust's Estates Team.
5. Drafting and implementing the Estates business plan to achieve strategic goals.
6. Analyzing complex issues involving the built environment and developing operational policies.
7. Managing the tender and construction processes with internal clients and external consultants.
8. Communicating multi-stranded project, design, financial, contractual policies to Board Senior Managers and contractors.
9. Advising on the appointment of independent consultants.
10. Engaging public consultation with patient groups in building design.
