Consultant Orthodontist 8 PA's Permanent
An opportunity has arisen for a substantive Consultant Orthodontist post at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT. We look forward to working with an enthusiastic team player to deliver a high-quality orthodontic service and develop the department further. We are a district general hospital covering level 3b services for Tameside, Glossop, and Oldham and we are part of the Greater Manchester training rotation. There are two other orthodontic consultants, a maxillofacial and oral surgery service, and a visiting restorative consultant. Our work is mainly MDT orthognathic surgery and orthodontic/restorative clinics and other more complex multiple tooth impaction cases.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will join a team of senior medical and nursing staff committed to providing a high-quality surgical and orthodontic service to the people of Tameside and Glossop. The common aim will be to develop the department in all aspects of clinical service, teaching, and research. Close teamwork is an essential requirement.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
* Full registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council (GDC)
* On the GDC Specialist List in Orthodontics Membership in Orthodontics or equivalent
* Possession of a Certificate of Accreditation or eligibility for a CCST in Orthodontics
* Fellowship Exit Examination in Orthodontics, or equivalent, or within 6 months of achieving before commencing consultant post
Training Essential
* Successful completion of an SAC-approved 2 year minimum training programme in a Fixed Term Training Appointment (FTTA) in Orthodontics, or within 6 months of completion of training, or equivalent which follows on from the pre-CCST training period of 3 years, or equivalent
Desirable
* Successful completion of an SAC-approved 3 year minimum training programme in Orthodontics
Teaching Essential
* Experience of post-graduate and undergraduate teaching and training at an appropriate level.
