Description Permanent Contract | £30,559 to £32,654 per annum (Scale G) | 37 hours per week | Multi-site (Diss, Harleston and Long Stratton) We are looking for an experienced team leader who can deliver operational front-line library services, creating a safe and welcoming environment for customers. You will have experience of supervising staff and dealing efficiently with operational procedures. You will be able to model excellent customer service during a time of change, supporting your team with lone working, increasing volunteer roles, and supporting the Open Libraries programme. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and keen to contribute to the success of the new public offer. You will be responsible for the management of the three libraries in Diss, Harleston & Long Stratton, engaging with local communities to understand their needs and developing partnerships with a wide range of organisations and groups. There will be opportunity to promote, advocate and market the library service, using social media and face to face meetings, and an expectation that you will be able to monitor and improve the performance of the libraries you manage. You will ensure building processes, procedures and general administrative tasks are completed accurately, as well as directing the staff on site in their frontline duties. This role calls for strong people skills and the ability to use social media, a keen understanding of the needs of the local community, and an ability to work to targets, meet deadlines, and negotiate with people for strong outcomes. You will be an advocate for the library service, a skilled communicator who can inspire others, and be a champion of change. This post will require you to travel and work evenings and weekends.
