Woodside Academy is a two-form entry primary school which is part of the Leading Learners Multi-Academy Trust. We provide a supportive and stimulating place to work and study, where every child can reach their full potential. We welcome all parents to take an active part in their child’s education.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated support assistant to join our team and support a specific pupil. We are keen to hear from individuals who will support our aims and ethos and enable pupils to reach their full potential.
Required skills:
1. Experience of working with pupils with SEND, particularly children with Communication and Interaction needs.
2. Ability to provide specific support (recommended by specialist teams and identified in the pupil's EHCP) to ensure appropriate support for their individual planned needs.
3. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team in planning and assessing the pupil’s needs and implementing recommendations made by specialist staff.
4. Willingness to undertake specific training delivered by specialist staff.
5. Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
6. Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times in line with the Staff Code of Conduct.
7. Effective communication skills.
8. Understanding, calm, and supportive demeanor.
9. Promotion of high standards and expectations in all areas.
10. Excellent team player with a positive outlook and a good sense of humour.
