From our repurposed premises in Rushden, we have a customer services capability backed by a constantly evolving logistics operation, using a variety of inhouse and third-party bespoke systems.
As part of our plans to future proof the business, an exciting opportunity exists for a motivated, tech-savvy, innovative individual to join our team. The role includes the development and maintenance of data systems including the migration from Access databases to SQL and web-based systems, IT support and security whilst driving innovation across the business including the developments in AI and their application in the business.
Key Responsibilities
This role combines IT support, data analysis, and strategic technology management to enhance business operations. The successful candidate will:
* Develop and Maintain Data Systems – Upgrade Access databases to SQL / web-based solutions, ensuring efficient data management and reporting.
* Provide IT Support and Security Oversight – Act as an internal IT resource, resolving software, hardware, and network issues while collaborating with external IT suppliers. Ensure data security and GDPR compliance.
* Manage External IT Relationships – Oversee third-party IT providers, ensuring their services align with business needs.
* Drive Innovation and Digital Integration – Research new technologies, support marketing data needs, and troubleshoot digital platform issues, in particular, developments in AI and their application in business optimisation
IT Support and Troubleshooting:
* Serve as a primary or secondary point of contact for all IT-related issues on site as required
* Troubleshoot technical problems related to software, hardware, and network connections, working with external IT suppliers as necessary.
* Data systems and security integrity, working with third parties as required
* Assist in setting up new systems, devices, and ensuring all staff are operational with their IT needs.
* Liaise with the digital manager / external suppliers on hardware and data requirements including supporting the Digital Manager on the segmentation of data for marketing purposes
* Ensure data storage, handling and processing is secure and complies with GDPR
Supplier and Relationship Management:
* Coordinate with external IT providers who manage our servers, call centre software, and other technical services.
* Provide on-site support and ensure effective communication between internal teams and external suppliers.
* Take over responsibility for managing the third-party relationships In line with the Companies changing requirements
Innovation and Tech Exploration:
* Proactively research and recommend new technologies and tools that can help modernise and improve business operations.
* Investigate and troubleshoot issues that the marketing team, or any other areas of the business, may bring up on digital platforms (e.g., GA4, Facebook ads), liaising with external customer support as needed.
* Keep up to date with the latest trends in technology to bring fresh ideas to the company.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for technology.
* Experience with SQL and data analysis tools (SQL Server, MySQL, etc.).
* Familiarity with Microsoft Access and willingness to transition to SQL / web-based systems.
* Good IT support skills (network troubleshooting, hardware and software support).
* Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical staff in a clear, friendly, and patient manner.
* Curiosity and eagerness to explore new technologies, tools, and approaches.
* Self-starter with the ability to work independently, and strong organisational skills.
* Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable (but not required)
* Experience with GA4, Facebook Ads Manager, or similar platforms.
* Exposure to web development, scripting languages, or cloud platforms.
