My client is a leading global provider of warehouse logistics automation systems. They now have a vacancy for a Shift Engineer at their site in Preston, Lancashire. The successful Shift Engineer will work as part of a team and will carry out planned preventative maintenance and repairs to the machinery on site.
This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with an electrical engineering bias who are leaving their military engineering career and are looking to join a company that offers a structured training programme with the opportunity to gain additional skills and qualifications as well as career progression.
Shift Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Provide breakdown and maintenance support to a wide range of electro-mechanical systems.
2. Electrical fault-finding.
3. Mechanical strip-down/re-assembly, basic field wiring, machine calibration and system testing.
4. Working against a timeframe to complete reactive repairs.
5. Interact with on-site management keeping them informed of repair and maintenance progression.
Shift Engineer Requirements:
1. You must be electrically biased and hold a relevant recognised engineering qualification in electrical engineering to a level of NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
2. Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills.
3. Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams.
4. Ability to interpret electrical circuit diagrams and work with 415V motor controls.
5. Understanding of PLC's and their function.
Shift Engineer Benefits:
1. Salary is £48,000 including shift allowance.
2. Panama shift pattern - 42 hours per week on average.
