The Parts Advisor plays a crucial role in our dealership, serving as a knowledgeable resource for customers and internal teams. Responsible for assisting customers in identifying and sourcing the right parts for their equipment, the Parts Advisor ensures a seamless parts-ordering process and timely deliveries. With a strong understanding of machinery parts, this role maintains accurate inventory records, monitors stock levels, and collaborates with suppliers to replenish stock. Additionally, the Parts Advisor provides exceptional customer service, offering technical support, resolving inquiries, and fostering lasting relationships with customers. By working closely with the Parts Manager and the service and sales teams, the Parts Advisor contributes to the dealership’s efficiency and customer satisfaction, supporting the overall success of the business.
1. Provide exceptional customer service to clients, in-person, via e-mail, via Apps and
over the phone, assisting them in identifying and sourcing the correct parts for their
agricultural machinery needs.
2. Utilise parts catalogues, databases, and electronic systems to accurately identify
and locate parts, ensuring efficient and timely order fulfilment.
3. Assist customers in determining the compatibility, functionality, and availability of
parts, offering expert advice and recommendations when necessary.
4. Process parts orders, invoices, and returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to
dealership policies and procedures.
5. Maintain organised and accurate parts inventory, monitoring stock levels,
conducting regular counts, and initiating replenishment orders as needed.
6. Collaborate with the parts manager and other team members to manage and
optimize inventory control, including identifying slow-moving or obsolete parts and
implementing strategies to reduce excess inventory.
7. Stay updated on the latest agricultural machinery parts, advancements, and
industry trends through training programs and self-study, enhancing product
knowledge and staying informed of new product releases.
8. Assist with parts merchandising and showroom displays, ensuring a visually
appealing and customer-friendly environment.
9. Handle customer inquiries and resolve concerns related to parts orders, availability,
pricing, and returns, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
10. Collaborate with the service department to support their parts needs for
equipment repairs and maintenance, ensuring timely availability and accurate
distribution of parts.
11. Conduct regular stock audits and physical inventory counts to ensure inventory
accuracy, identifying discrepancies and taking corrective actions as necessary.
12. Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, handling cash, card payments,
and other forms of payment, ensuring adherence to shop policies and procedures.
13. Properly dispose and recycle waste materials generated from operations, such as,
but not limited to, cardboard packaging, ensuring compliance with environmental
regulations and promoting sustainable waste management practices.
14. Complete goods-in operations, including unloading and loading of delivery vehicles,
completing necessary paperwork, and organising items for proper storage.
15. Assist with assembly of garden machinery according to manufacturer instructions,
unbox and display items in a presentable manner to showcase their features and
readiness to continue to make a sale when required.
