A wonderful part-time live-out nanny position has become available, working with a professional and friendly family who live in Croxley Green, Hertfordshire. You will be looking after twin boys aged five years, so experience of working with twins would be advantageous. You will need to have proven SEN training and experience (autism).
They are looking for a kind and caring nanny who has confidence and understands the need to have firm boundaries in place when there are unwanted behaviours, and to support with emotional regulation, and who will enjoy spending time with them to create a strong bond.
The boys enjoy a mixture of indoor activities such as arts and crafts, imaginary games, and playing with their trains, as well as outdoor activities such as walks in the woods and visits to the park.
During term time (39 weeks), the days and hours will be (20 hours/week):
Monday – 14.30-18.30
Tuesday – 12.30-18.30
Wednesday – 14.30 -18.30
Thursday – 12.30 -18.30
In the school holidays (13 weeks), the hours will change and you will work three days with longer hours (08.30-18.30), making 30 hours/week. The three days to be worked are flexible and to be mutually agreed. Your salary will be split evenly across the year.
There could also be some ad hoc additional days, but these will be mutually agreed separately and paid as overtime.
In the school holidays, the parents would like you to take the boys on fun and educational day trips and activities such as the cinema or the farm, meeting up with their friends to help them socialise, always ensuring their happiness and safety.
As well as collecting the children from school or their clubs, you will help to keep them organised. This includes tasks such as general childcare, overseeing homework (reading, phonics, etc.), the children’s laundry, keeping their bedrooms and playroom organised and tidy, ensuring they have everything they need for the next day (uniform prepared, etc.). Although there is a weekly cleaner, any help to keep the house running smoothly would be appreciated (keeping the kitchen tidy, emptying the dishwasher, running the occasional errand, etc.).
You will be responsible for preparing healthy and nutritious meals for the children each day and batch cooking, preferably homemade whenever possible. At the end of the day, you will oversee bathtime and leave all used rooms tidy, ready for the parents to take over.
You should be a careful and confident driver with a clean driving license and your own fully insured car. Duty mileage will be paid.
