About the role
We are seeking an FP&A Analyst within our Financial Planning & Analysis team to drive forward single source of truth, data driven decision making, as Learning Pool targets an ambitious growth trajectory. You will be pivotal in ensuring Learning Pool has the right financial planning in place to achieve its strategic goals, and will be on hand to provide meaningful analysis to support the business on its journey. You will be a key partner to every area of the business, building strong relationships with both internal and external business partners, driving operational excellence throughout.
Location:
Hybrid model, working from home with regular attendance at one of our Learning Pool Offices (Derry, Nottingham, Oxford or Belfast). Commuting distance to the Derry office is highly desirable.
What you will be doing
Roles and responsibilities include:
Financial Modeling & Forecasting
* Develop, maintain and enhance financial models that support agile forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.
* Support preparation of monthly and quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and 3-5 year financial plans.
* Analyse variances between actual, budgeted and forecasted financial results to identify trends and suggest corrective actions.
Data Analysis & Management
* Gather, clean and analyse large sets of data to create meaningful and actionable insights.
* Maintain and manage financial databases and systems, ensuring data integrity.
* Support the implementation of new systems or processes to enhance data quality and analysis.
Reporting & Analysis
* Generate and distribute monthly/quarterly financial reports and key performance indicator (KPI) dashboards.
* Provide insights on financial and operational performance, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
* Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and scenarios as needed by management.
Business Partnering
* Develop a deep understanding of business drivers and provide financial insights to support decision-making.
* Serve as a trusted advisor to department heads on financial matters and provide recommendations to enhance profitability.
Process Improvement
* Streamline and automate financial reporting and forecasting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
* Implement best practices and contribute to the improvement of financial planning processes.
Who we are looking for
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
* A proven track record: You will have proven experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, corporate finance, or similar roles; experience in a SaaS business is a plus. Preference may be given to candidates with experience in Private Equity backed businesses.
* Qualifications: You will be a qualified accountant or have a degree in a Maths, Science or Engineering related discipline.
* Subject Matter Expertise: You will have the ability to build and manage complex financial models, build financial reports and provide insights to drive business decisions.
* Technical capability: You will have proficiency in data visualisation and analysis tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) and ERP systems (e.g. Oracle) as well as advanced proficiency in Excel.
* Communication skills: You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
* Exceptional organisational skills and keen attention to detail: You will have excellent organisational skills as well as strong quantitative skills, with attention to detail and the ability to interpret and analyse large datasets.
* Positive, solutions focused outlook: You will ask 'What can we do to make this happen?' rather than 'I don't know how this would work.'
