* Location: Sheffield (This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office)
The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) brings together the local authorities of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield to serve the communities and businesses of South Yorkshire. Please note that SYMCA follows a structured salary grading system for all roles, and the offered salary for each post will be at the starting point within the specified grade. Key Responsibilities
As Commercial Analyst you’ll analyse financial and statistical information and produce quality reports. You will provide understanding of the product market and ensure that the data is processed to established timescales and make appropriate recommendations.
Main responsibilities include:
* Develop and manage reimbursement analysis models and tools and advise on the use of demand curves and elasticity values.
* Actively support and work collaboratively to negotiate with external partners.
* Lead on scenario modelling, forecasting, risk analysis and budget implications for any new potential schemes or changes.
* Ensuring statutory data is received from operators in the required format and on time to enable delivery against statutory ENCTS requirements, and challenge partners where necessary.
* Work collaboratively with other members of the department, other Departments and external clients.
* Day to day responsibility for all processes required in extracting data and reporting on the organisation’s CRM database, enabling insight to be given to the organisation on customer feedback.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You will have previous experience within a similar role in the analysis of complex data sets, with experience of using Excel at an advanced level to create pivot tables and write advanced formulas for analysing data.
We’d love to hear from candidates with the following:
* A relevant degree in maths, economics or similar numerate subject or equivalent attainment.
* Experience of data analysis / modelling in a government or public transport environment (desirable).
* Analytical and numeric skills with the ability to analyse data to gather relevant information.
* Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Financial and commercial awareness.
* Ability to manage own workload and contribution to project success.
