Job summary We are looking to appoint to a Whole-Time Locum Consultant Otolaryngologist with an interest in General ENT and Otology/Neurotology employed by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for a fixed term of 12 months. The post will be based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield. We would welcome applications from candidates across the full spectrum of experience, from those who have recently completed training to those who have well-established careers. Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues. Main duties of the job The appointee will, together with consultant colleagues be responsible for the provision of general ENT services to the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. On-call is currently provided by 7 Sheffield-based consultants Monday to Friday, with the 3 Barnsley consultants. Appointments are made to the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the person appointed is required to be sufficiently flexible to undertake their main clinical duties at any of the sites within the Trust and/or to change their base hospital.
