The Programme Manager is the Head of the Activity & Residential Departments. The main duties include ensuring the delivery of a high-quality activity and excursion programme, accurately administering rooming and meal requirements, and ensuring that all staff members have been properly inducted and are prepared and present for all duties. They must ensure that the programme is enjoyable and delivered safely. They will lead regular meetings with the team to discuss client feedback and adjust the programme if necessary.
The Programme Manager will ensure all policies are being followed, focusing on Health & Safety, Safeguarding, and Risk Assessments. They will support the Team Leaders in leading the Activity & Welfare Leaders in delivering the social programme, looking after students’ wellbeing, and conducting room checks.
The Programme Manager must also maintain accurate administrative records (registers, rotas, incident reports, regularly updated risk assessments, and programmes) and will work closely with the Centre Director to liaise about the stock of activity material, centre-hired items, and the return of all unused stock. They will also liaise with the host college or university staff to ensure that facilities are booked and ready. The Programme Manager is responsible for the set up and closure of the centre and must assist with the day-to-day running of the centre. In the absence of the Centre Director, they will act as the Designated Safeguarding Person On Call (DSPOC).
