Having traded for over 30 years, this broker boasts a large and longstanding portfolio of clients varying from some sub £5,000 SME cases, through to several corporate cases with complex global exposures with premium spends in excess of £500,000. However, it’s fair to say that it’s ‘bread and butter’ is cases paying between £50,000 and £100,000 GWP.
Depending on how you see your future playing out, the role can be tweaked to suit your skills, experience and motivations. For example, you will be allocated clients that suit your technical ambitions (say the more complex clients, or you may particularly enjoy dealing with ‘wheels’ oriented or white-collar risks, for example). Alternatively, you may hope to become an Account Executive so will start accompanying a Director on client visits and inherit a small portfolio of accounts to run as a ‘Desk-Top Account Exec’ in the first instance.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring their needs are met and relationships are built.
2. Work collaboratively with team members to achieve shared goals and objectives.
3. Develop a strong understanding of commercial insurance through broking, underwriting, or claims experience.
4. Accompany Directors on client visits to gain experience and knowledge.
Qualifications:
1. Good understanding of commercial insurance.
2. Excellent team player with strong communication skills.
3. Ability to build relationships with diverse individuals.
4. Knowledge of the Acturis broking platform is preferred but not essential.
This firm is based in North Leeds with ample parking and close to major public transport routes. You will also be welcome to work from home several days per week.
In return, you will receive a generous basic salary that is anticipated to be in the region of £35,000 - £45,000, but completely negotiable for outstanding candidates. As you would expect from a broker with a reputation for providing rapid career progression, this will soon be increased as you assume increased responsibility.
