We're seeking a Junior Sales Engineer to join our clients Sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and achieving profitable sales across our full range of products and services to both existing and new customers in specific geographical territories. This role will be based in Aberdeen and will require some UK and international travel.
Responsibilities:
* Support senior sales staff or account managers with product demonstrations, presentations, and client meetings.
* Assist in identifying and achieving sales targets for company products, working closely with senior sales staff to engage with current and new customers across various markets.
* Coordinate and manage the sales process, including the preparation of sales proposals, handling post-sales support, and ensuring communication between the Sales Admin team and other departments.
* Develop an understanding of commercial processes and procedures, including authority levels and discount agreements, ensuring compliance in all sales activities.
* Participate in identifying and developing new sales opportunities within existing and potential customer bases, aligning efforts with Regional Account and Market Development plans.
* Gather and provide insights on industry trends, competitors, and market activities within the assigned geographic areas, working with Business Development team to support company strategies.
* Develop and maintain a network of industry contacts to promote brand and explore potential sales opportunities, under the guidance of senior sales managers.
* Prepare and contribute to regular sales reports, including CRM updates, visit reports, and activity forecasts, ensuring accurate and timely communication with UK Head Office and Regional Management.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships across the Regions such as Engineering, Marketing, Business Development, Survey Support and Production to progress operational sales requirements, feedback on product performance/new product and application requirements etc. and to promote a collaborative working style with timely two-way communication and proactive planning.
* Support the promotion of brand and capabilities by participating in marketing activities, trade events, and industry-related events, with opportunities to contribute to presentations and publications.
Qualifications:
* HND in a relevant engineering discipline and/or operational experience in competitor core markets.
* Sales/target driven experience within challenging environments.
* Demonstrated ability to comprehend and engage credibly in technical discussions.
* Offshore operational survey experience.
* Knowledge of client products and market applications.
* Commercial acumen and experience of contract negotiation.
* Experience of creating and delivering presentations/papers with confidence and impact.
* Familiarity with CRM software.
Day-to-day:
* The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the sales team, engaging with customers, coordinating sales processes, gathering market insights, and contributing to the promotion of company brand and capabilities.
