The Cambridge Paediatric Haematology/Oncology Centre is one of the larger Principal Treatment Centres (PTC) in the UK, which currently attracts over 120 new referrals of childhood malignancies and over 200 new non-malignant haematology cases per year. Paediatric Haematology and Oncology patients are currently cared for within Addenbrookes Hospital, but will be moving into the new Cambridge Childrens Hospital due for completion within the next few years, with purpose build BMT accommodation. Related paediatric sub-specialties, including radiotherapy, theatres and paediatric intensive care are available on site. The existing adult cellular therapy service, apheresis and stem cell laboratory are well established and co-located. There are strong academic links available for cancer research in Cambridge, through the Biomedical Research Centre, MRC and CRUK, as well as through academic departments within the university.
