An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Essential Skills Worker Lecturer within the Engineering department at Cardiff and Vale College. This role will be based across campuses.
Responsibilities include:
1. Undertaking classroom teaching, preparation and marking;
2. Undertaking all organisational and administrative work associated with the above;
3. Liaising and communicating effectively with relevant course tutors, ensuring accuracy of qualification registration and ensuring claims are submitted in accordance with College policies and procedures;
4. Undertaking relevant continuous professional development and training;
5. Referring learners to support services within the college; i.e., learning coaches, wellbeing officers and counsellors;
6. Participating in the annual staff appraisal;
7. Assisting in monitoring and tracking of student progress and entitlement to additional learning (ALN) support;
8. Welsh language skills would be desirable for this role.
The successful candidate will hold one or more of the following: Certificate for Essential Skills Practitioners at level 3 (Literacy, Numeracy, Digital Literacy or ESOL).
