GSL Education are actively searching for a devoted and caring Behaviour Support Worker to join a welcoming school in Hythe.
About the role:
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in implementing behaviour management strategies and supporting students in achieving their educational goals. Your role will involve working closely with students, teachers, and external professionals to ensure a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities of the Behaviour Support Worker:
* Implement behaviour support plans (BSPs) from teachers and the SENCO to manage challenging behaviours consistently and effectively.
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them understand and manage their emotions and actions in different situations.
* Create a positive and inclusive learning environment by encouraging and reinforcing good behaviour and social skills among students.
* Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and outside professionals to develop and review behaviour strategies that meet each student's needs.
* Keep track of student behaviour and progress, maintaining clear records and sharing feedback with teachers and parents/guardians when needed.
* Assist teachers in keeping a productive learning space by using proactive strategies and providing support during lessons.
Requirements of the Behaviour Support Worker:
* Experience working with students who have behavioural challenges in schools or similar environments.
* Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
* Empathy, patience, and resilience to support students in managing their behaviour and emotions effectively.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills to work well with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, helping to create a positive school community.
* Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
