Job summary The postholder will be responsible for leading the nursing service for patients with a Gynaecological Cancer. They will play a lead role in the implementation of the Best Practice Timed Pathway for patients with a suspected gynaecological cancer. In this position you will have a key leadership role as a senior nurse within a multi-professional team, providing specialist care and support to patients and carers throughout their cancer pathway and beyond. You will be responsible for working collaboratively with a range of healthcare professional and agencies, providing expert advice and support, to ensure the delivery of high quality and efficient services to meet the cancer priorities of the organisation and the national agenda.[ Main duties of the job The post holder will have a key leadership role as a senior nurse in the team to provide support to patients through their cancer pathway. As part of this role you will provide the patient, their families and other healthcare professionals with expert advice and support and is responsible for working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and agencies to ensure high quality care. This role requires you to maintain professional standards, act as a role model and provide accessible professional leadership at all times. You will be expected to provide education & training to colleagues pertinent to the role and ensure they maintain their own professional development.
