SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant
Teaching Personnel is seeking compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils in an SEN school in Pentre. All applicants must have experience working with children with additional learning needs (ALN) and be comfortable supporting in a specialist education setting.
This welcoming and inclusive school caters to pupils aged 3-19 with autism, profound, and complex needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment tailored to individual needs. Full training will be provided, but previous experience in education, care, or support work is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
✔️ Supporting children with additional learning needs (ALN) under the guidance of the class teacher.
✔️ Assisting with learning activities and adapting resources to suit individual needs.
✔️ Providing emotional, social, and physical support, which may include personal care.
✔️ Preparing the classroom for lessons and maintaining a structured and engaging environment.
Who Are We Looking For?
✅ Experience supporting children with SEN, either in education, care, or a support setting.
✅ Patient, nurturing, and passionate about working with children.
✅ Any additional training (e.g., manual handling, Makaton, Team Teach) is beneficial but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
