We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced BMS Commissioning engineer to join our growing team delivering smart, safe, sustainable, healthy buildings in and around central London.
The ideal candidate would be a highly skilled, professional and driven individual with extensive knowledge of the BMS sector and able to commission the building management systems and associated mechanical / electrical plant in accordance with the approved contract documentation, specifications and drawings.
This role will primarily be based on sites around central London.
The Key Result Areas for this role are:
Area 1: Project Delivery
* Complies with all current legislation, client policies, MSRAs, site rules and toolbox talks associated with commissioning tasks.
* Carries out off-site panel inspections and BMS software and graphics tests.
* Pre-commissions BMS control panels, peripherals and third-party equipment on site.
* Commissions BMS control panels on site.
* Loads, tests and verifies software and graphics delivered to site to ensure functionality is in accordance with the approved contract documentation.
* Attends on-site witness testing of commissioned BMS and controls.
* Attends commissioning meetings on and off site as and when required.
* Works with other engineers to identify and develop commissioning procedures and techniques.
* Works with the project managers and the engineering departments to deliver individual projects.
* Ensures that projects are delivered to the highest technical standards.
* Ensures company quality standards are upheld. [ISO 9001 Quality Control System]
* Ensures all testing and validation is done using calibrated meters and test equipment.
* Ensures BMS and controls comply with approved contract documentation.
* Takes part in multiple Projects in parallel as and when necessary.
* Anticipates difficulties and proposes solutions.
* Effectively manages time and priorities.
* Ensures that as built information presented to the engineering team is of an appropriate standard.
* Ensures accurate and timely completion of commissioning documentation and daily work records.
Area 2: Commercial Awareness
* Ensures work is carried out efficiently to maximise company profitability.
* Assists the Project Manager by ensuring additional work is identified and additional costs claimed for when appropriate.
* Accurately records any site delays and their causes.
* Submits time sheets in accordance with company requirements.
* Maintains a site diary recording all relevant site information such as meeting minutes, information provided by clients, third parties, etc.
Area 3: Team Involvement
* Provides technical and non-technical support to less experienced engineers within the business.
* Helps colleagues to find solutions to problems.
* Contributes to a friendly and positive environment within the company.
* Participates in the development of trainee staff.
* Prepared to take a lead role when required.
Area 4: Technical Experience
* Technical qualification in an appropriate discipline (e.g. Mechanical/Electrical Engineering) to ONC/HNC standard or above.
* Sound working knowledge of building services mechanical and electrical systems.
* Sound working knowledge of Schneider, Trend, Distech, Tridium, Delta control systems.
* Working knowledge of relevant industry standards i.e. BS7671, CIBSE and BSRIA guides.
* Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Outlook.
* CSCS Card Holder.
* Hold a clean/full UK (or equivalent) driving license.
* Attends training courses and keeps abreast of developments within industry.
* Networks with BMS controls industry to keep up-to-date with technological and product developments.
