We are recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join our Recruitment and Assessment teams within Adoption Partnership South East. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Regional Adoption Agency which provides adoption services on behalf of the London Borough of Bexley, Kent County Council, and Medway Council. The teams recruit, assess, and support potential adopters as well as Early Permanence carers who provide placement to young children while court proceedings are ongoing.
Within this role, you will have proven experience ideally with some experience of adoption work. You will need excellent assessment and report writing skills. You will work well within timescales and deadlines while ensuring your work is thorough and to a good standard. You will have the ability to support adopters and children while they settle as a family, understanding that this takes time. You will also provide support to early permanence carers facing uncertainty while remaining child-centred and work well with birth parents and other professionals. You will have an understanding of the lifelong impact of adoption and the importance of maintaining connections and relationships for the adopted person.
Salary is dependent on experience and progression through the career grade and is based on the fulfilment of required capabilities. Applicants must be able to evidence that they have successfully progressed to the required competency level via a recognised career progression pathway when they submit their application.
We are looking for someone with a degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent; you will have some understanding of adoption issues, be willing to learn, and have a commitment to delivering excellent outcomes for children and young people. In addition to your experience of supporting families, report writing, and meeting deadlines, you must be able to multi-task and have excellent organisational skills, work independently as well as part of a team with a positive performance culture. Above all, you will be child-focused.
