Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated therapy assistant practitioner for the private patients ward. You will be based at Harefield Hospital as an important member of a well-established and highly respected therapy team and wider multi professional Therapy team. The role will combine occupational therapy and physiotherapy. Main duties of the job The role involves working on wards, both alongside therapists and independently, treating adults following cardiothoracic surgery and cardiology procedures which will regularly involve the use of rehabilitation equipment and hoists. You will be closely supported by, and receive regular teaching from highly skilled, experienced senior physiotherapists. You will be responsible for the monitoring and cleaning of equipment kept by the physiotherapy department and ensuring safety checks are carried out. Good IT / word processing skills are essential to be able to carry out administration and clerical duties. We are looking for someone who will be a flexible team player with good communication skills both with other professionals and with patients and their carers. Previous experience working in a clinical role is desirable.
