The School of Engineering has a requirement for a technician to join the technical team supporting teaching and research in the chemical, petroleum and associated laboratories.
The main purpose of the role is to support the teaching and research of the chemical and petroleum laboratories and to assist elsewhere in the School as required.
Candidates should have an appropriate level of laboratory experience in a relevant field (engineering, chemistry, biology, physics); experience in the safe handling, storing and disposal of hazardous chemicals; good organizational ability.
Experience of handling and working with compressed gas is desirable.
You should be able to demonstrate initiative and possess good interpersonal and time management skills for working within a dynamic teaching and research group. A flexibility approach is essential to support the teaching timetable.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 4, £26,642 - £30,505 per annum with placement according to qualifications and experience.
