We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join a prominent listed financial services firm based in the City of London. This key role will be responsible for leading financial governance, delivering financial insights, and maintaining robust financial controls, directly contributing to the firm's overall business performance. The Financial Controller will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and provide crucial support to the business in achieving its objectives. The role reports directly to the Head of Group Reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Governance & Reporting: Lead the team in delivering accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and providing financial insights to support business decision-making.
* Client Money / CASS Compliance: Manage and ensure compliance with client money regulations (CASS), maintaining industry best practices in this critical area.
* Financial Controls: Oversee the maintenance of financial controls to safeguard the company's financial integrity, ensuring the business is fully compliant with internal and external standards.
* Team Leadership: Manage and mentor three team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
* Regulatory & Business Support: Support the business in meeting its financial and regulatory obligations while providing guidance to senior management to drive strategic initiatives and business growth.
What You Need to Succeed:
* ACA qualification (or equivalent), ideally with experience gained in an audit or professional services environment.
* Proven experience in managing client money and compliance with CASS regulations within the financial services industry.
* Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a small team while maintaining a high standard of financial control and reporting.
