Lancaster and Morecambe Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) are looking to recruit a qualified Band 6 Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist. The applicant would need to be registered with a professional regulating body. The successful candidate may be required to work in either the Non-Psychosis Service Line or the Psychosis Service Line and undertake CMHT tasks as required.

This is a demanding role in a busy service. Ideally, you will have current or previous experience of working within a mental health setting. You should be clinically confident in working with individuals with complex needs and be able to work effectively in a multi-professional context. A collaborative and enthusiastic approach, as well as passion and commitment in developing and promoting recovery-based approaches for adults with severe and enduring mental health needs, is essential.
The post requires that you are a good communicator and are able to adopt a flexible, adaptable, and proactive approach to your work.
Responsibilities:
1. Provides comprehensive assessment, advice, and treatment to people with highly complex needs referred to Community Services in accordance with care pathways for given specialism.
2. Delivers specialist interventions in accordance with care pathways for given specialism.
3. Develops packages of individual care and treatment according to identified need within the Care Co-Ordination and Care Act Framework.
4. Works closely with other professionals within and outside the Community Team.
5. Actively supports the Team Leader/Advanced Practitioner in the achievement of KPI/CQUIN and related County Council targets, and maintenance of registration with regulating bodies.
6. Takes the lead on specific objectives as directed by the Team Lead and Clinical Team Lead.
7. Provides supervision and direction to practitioners and support staff within community services, undertaking appraisals and supporting the personal development of colleagues.
8. Contributes to the screening of referrals and allocation to service lines.
9. Contributes to the assessment of complex cases to support the appropriate allocation of referrals.
10. Supports a culture of ongoing learning and development on an individual, team, and service basis to ensure high standards are maintained and, where appropriate, contributes to the delivery of training.
11. Provides leadership to colleagues acting as a positive role model.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health, and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
