We are seeking to appoint a Communication Support Worker for 30 hours per week, term time plus INSET days (both fixed-term and permanent contracts considered).
Working hours will be: 8.45 a.m. – 3.30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
We are seeking a highly motivated Communication Support Worker qualified to a minimum of Level 3 BSL to work alongside a Teaching Assistant in supporting one of our pupils who requires British Sign Language to communicate and to help develop their skills. The role may also involve assisting other students with communication as needed, and if offered a permanent contract, the worker would provide support to others once the pupil has left the school.

Key tasks will include:
* Bridge the communication barrier between a pupil who uses British Sign Language and hearing peers/adults, to ensure inclusion.
* Deliver teacher input through combining British Sign Language and speech in all curriculum areas.
* Adapt activities, resources and materials to ensure inclusion of pupil.
* Develop and progress pupil’s expressive and receptive sign and spoken English.
