The post offered is that of a one-year fixed-term Locum Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry in the 154 Camden Road Community Rehabilitation Unit and Lime Tree Gardens Residential and Rehabilitation Service (5 PAs). These sessions are backfill for the existing Consultant Psychiatrist, who will be starting a secondment as the Research Lead for the partnership. The ideal start date would be ASAP, but this can be negotiated. AC Approval is essential.
The post is to provide consultant cover to two teams in the community – 154 Camden Road Community Rehabilitation Unit and Lime Tree Gardens, a rehabilitation and residential placement. Both units have well-established and experienced multi-disciplinary teams. Camden & Islington’s rehabilitation services are well-respected and internationally renowned.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide advice and support to nursing and support staff in the management of patients at 154 Camden Road and Lime Tree Gardens.
* Provide consultant input and clinical leadership to the 154 Camden Road and Lime Tree Gardens. Assist with diagnosis, formulation, medication reviews, management plans, risk assessments, crisis plans, and self-help plans as required for patients referred to the team.
* Maintain effective communication with GPs, primary care staff, patients, and their carers.
* Work flexibly within timetabled working hours, so that urgent clinical matters can be prioritized.
* Liaise and work closely with other C&I rehabilitation teams and attend a weekly referrals meeting with other senior rehabilitation clinicians.
* Liaise and work closely with local voluntary services as part of the new model of core community teams.
* Participate in management activities and governance processes related to the Rehabilitation Services, including audits and quality improvement projects.
* Play an integral role in the performance of the team, the further development of the service, and the development of clinical pathways and priorities of the service line.
