We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our busy and friendly practice team.
The successful candidate will assist the practice team in our treatment room.
Salary is dependent on qualifications and skills. You must be accurate, have good communication skills, be a team player and also be able to work flexibly in the absence of colleagues. The position is full time, however part time would be considered for the right candidate.
Relevant experience, phlebotomy training and NVQ level 3 qualifications would be desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venepuncture on patients as requested by a doctor or nurse.
- Testing urine specimens
- Collect and test blood specimens for glucose analysis
- Ensure any specimens collected are correctly labelled and prepared for collection by the pathology service.
- Complete long term condition reviews
We are open to people who may not be able to work full-time but ideally you should be able to cover 1 evening per week until 8pm. We are recruiting on a 6 month contract, which could be made permanent after that time.
