Learning Support Assistants Required in Horsham. (LSA's) Roles available due to expansion Vacancy - Learning Support Assistant We are supporting a special educational needs school, NAS accredited with an Ofsted rated 'Good' that caters for academically able autistic students with associated difficulties, including ADHD and complex needs. The majority of students will have either of Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Their dedicated staff are committed to creating a learning culture that enables the best possible outcomes for their pupils. We have been asked to look for an individual to support with the delivery of agreed learning activities and support pupil learning in a range of classroom settings, including working with individual pupils as directed. As an LSA you will be required to contribute to and support the overall aims and ethos of the school. Specific Duties Include: Working as directed by the Classroom Teachers and Senior Leadership Team. Understand how a pupil's learning is affected by their physical, intellectual, emotional and social development and understand the stages of child development. Make effective and efficient use of ICT for classroom and management support. Provide support and encouragement to children and young people. Challenge and motivate pupils, promote and reinforce self-esteem. Participate in the marking of pupils' work and accurately record achievement/progress. Encourage children to value their experiences and knowledge. Be familiar and keep up to date with the school's systems and structures as outlined in policy documents including Health and Safety and Child Protection policies.
