Full-Time Clinical Lead - Bladder and Bowel Specialist Nurse
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse to become our full-time (Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week) Band 7 Bladder and Bowel Specialist Nurse in Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust's Hertfordshire Division.
The right candidate will need to demonstrate that they have clinical expertise in assessing and providing interventions for people with bladder and bowel dysfunctions and the leadership skills to manage a small team of fellow nurses and health care assistants.
Main Responsibilities
The main responsibility of the Band 7 Bladder and Bowel Specialist Nurse is to take the lead in assessing and providing clinical care to patients in clinic, virtually or in their own homes. As this does mean some travel within West Hertfordshire, candidates will need to be a car driver.
You will be joining a friendly supportive group of specialist service teams and a large NHS community Trust where professional guidance is readily available and personal and professional development is fully supported.
It’s not essential that you are already a specialist Bladder and Bowel nurse as we can offer this role as a developmental post and training will be given.

Person Specification
Education/Qualification
* Diploma or Degree in Nursing.
* Current NMC Registration.
* Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent postgraduate courses relevant to specialty.
* Supervisory and leadership skills training or equivalent experience.
* MSc relevant to healthcare.
Experience
* Able to apply a high level of knowledge & skills in a clinical setting.
* Experience of service delivery in acute and community settings.
* Experience in supervising staff.
* Experience of teaching/presenting to colleagues and carers.
* Experience of Complex Continence management at expert level.
* Experience in working with the elderly.
* Experience in establishing or developing audit and standards including using outcome measures.
* Ability to perform Uroflowmetry, Bladder scanning, vaginal examination, and rectal examination.
* Experience of training students and/or colleagues.
* Post-registration experience in an NHS community environment.
Skills and Knowledge
* Knowledge and understanding of community care legislation, NICE and NSF guidelines, policy and their implications for practice.
* Knowledge and understanding of the principles of Clinical Governance.
* Excellent knowledge of current issues of managing complex continence with theory in the assessment and treatment.
* Knowledge of types of outcome measures.
* Knowledge of clinical governance and its implications for services, including experience of quality issues, research, and audit.
* The ability to maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge and skills.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, report writing, presentation skills, and behavioral change skills.
* Evidence of involvement in benchmarking, auditing, and service improvement.

£48,270 to £54,931 a year Per Annum, inclusive of HCAS.
