Brief Description
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will lead the delivery of innovative analysis using a variety of advanced analytical techniques to improve business performance. The role will involve collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement analysis that inform business decisions. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, timely business performance reports and providing insights on key trends and issues. This will include analysis of passenger demand patterns across the network and forecasting the trajectory of a wide range of KPIs tracked at monthly business reviews.
You will also play a key role in improving analyst competencies across the region. You will lead training events and analyst community gatherings to enhance skills and knowledge. Your responsibilities will include developing a framework for training and driving technical excellence to enhance the region's analytical capability.
Your Main Responsibilities will be to:
1. Lead a performance analysis team, providing challenge, growth and development of individuals and the team as a whole.
2. Champion innovation and technical excellence and provide drive to improve the understanding of performance within the business.
3. Deliver relevant business performance reporting requirements to time and quality. Provide insight on key trends and issues.
4. Lead the provision of analysis to various internal and external stakeholders in order to improve business performance. Develop analysis and reporting tools to effectively analyse, forecast and inform on trends and issues, including the development of predictive and prescriptive techniques.
5. Understand cross functional and cross industry needs for business performance improvement. Proactively link other functions and organisations to provide a single shared set of performance analysis tools.
6. Assume business systems ownership for the data systems needed to provide high quality analysis and reporting. Provide data knowledge and expertise in the support and management of business aspects of data warehouse and reporting tools.
7. Develop a framework to improve analyst competencies across the region. Lead analyst community events and in-house training.
8. Develop, implement and review key performance indicators, both internally and externally within the industry.
9. Advise the team on technical demand forecasting and investment appraisals.
You will ideally have
1. Degree and/or post graduate qualification in a relevant discipline, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent experience.
2. Significant practical experience in descriptive / predictive modelling and visualisation methods and techniques.
3. Ability to lead, enthuse and develop a team.
4. Ability to provide excellent project management.
5. Demonstrate flair for problem solving with strong data analysis skills.
6. Competent in statistical forecasting techniques.
7. Ability to develop concepts into analysis tools and techniques.
8. Good communication skills including presentation and listening.
9. Strong skills and practical experience using Python or R, SQL or alternatives, MS Power Platform (inc. PowerBI), MS SharePoint and excellence in MS Excel.
10. Experience of analysing large datasets and using complex analytical frameworks to support decisions.
