Job Description: and You will be an important member of the OPIS Europe Spots team, engaging with team members in the European aromatics sector for price discovery, and to explore trends and opportunities, while producing price assessments, analytics and news for daily publication. You will report into the Journalism Associate Director. Main responsibilities include: Partner engagement to identify aromatics pricing and benchmark opportunities in Europe. Use OPIS pricing methodology to publish daily aromatics price assessments. Spot and track industry pricing changes and developments, working to assist OPIS in the development of spot aromatics benchmarks in Europe Support OPIS analysis of aromatics and petrochemicals by gathering information across multiple industry databases. Create stories for news service and longer, more analytical content focusing on industry trends and related developments Occasional travel, client visits and conference attendance. Based in U.K. About You Important Qualifications and Skills: A bachelor's degree in journalism, economics, or related field. Experience in price reporting within the aromatics, recycled plastics or wider petrochemical sectors. Networking skills for partner engagement and to develop aromatics pricing and identify potential benchmarks Good numerical skills and ability in newswriting and reporting Work to deadlines and flexible hours due to publishing of reports Willingness to break down and understand market issues and developments Passion to track industry trends in the wider petrochemical industry, including concerning the ongoing energy transition Some experience of recycled plastics, the market and several companies/organisations in Europe would be useful Ability to speak another European language and experience of aromatics/petrochemicals would be helpful but not essential About Us OPIS, a Dow Jones company, provides price transparency across the global supply chain so that all partners can buy and sell energy commodities with confidence.
