Overview
As a Senior Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to elderly individuals in a care home setting. Your responsibilities will include supervising junior staff, implementing care plans, and ensuring the well-being of residents. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both residents and their families.
Duties
1. Provide compassionate and personalised care to residents, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
2. Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
3. Supervise and mentor junior staff members, fostering a supportive team environment.
4. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
5. Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
6. Maintain accurate records of resident care and progress, adhering to regulatory requirements.
7. Drive residents to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring their safety during transport.
8. Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in senior care.
Requirements
1. Previous experience in a care home or senior care environment is essential.
2. Strong IT skills for maintaining records and communicating with staff.
3. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents and their families.
4. Proven ability to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
5. Leadership experience is preferred for supervising junior staff members.
6. A valid driving licence is desirable for transporting residents when required.
7. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.
