Fixed term contract/ secondment opportunity until March 2026
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUHFT) Business Intelligence Department is responsible for the delivery of informatics and data analysis across the Trust to support its clinical and administrative obligations.
The Department is comprised of a team of 25 Analysts, Officers and Developers and aims to provide the highest degree of services and support to Trust staff and the Trust's partners and commissioners. These services are undertaken through the provision of information, research, and analysis to customers throughout the trust. This service helps ensure that the best patient care is always available, and that staff productivity is maintained.

Role Overview
As a Senior Information Analyst, you will manage a team of Higher Information Analysts, Information Analysts and Information Officers who use a number of tools, including SQL and Power BI to extract and automate large data sets from a number of different sources. You will oversee the development of short and long-term planning, risk management, and resource allocation, while also acting as a subject matter expert to support the wider trust. Key responsibilities include:
1. Working with stakeholders to define requirements.
2. Delivering high-quality reports and visualizations.
3. Managing informatics projects.
4. Assisting in the design and implementation of the data warehouse.
The role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work under minimal supervision, and the capacity to provide training and guidance to staff.

Key Responsibilities
1. First and Second line management of a team of informaticians, allocating, prioritising and quality assuring their work.
2. Take responsibility for their performance, training and development.
3. Provide support, direction and leadership whilst dealing with own complex work.
4. Develop and maintain a high level of skills and abilities across the team.
5. Regularly evaluate performance and development needs to ensure that development requirements are identified, performance issues are addressed and exceptional work is recognised and rewarded.
6. Produce and deliver comprehensive training material to develop and maintain a high level of skills and abilities across the team and wider trust colleagues.
7. Take ownership of individual and team workloads, keeping people informed of progress and managing expectations where necessary.
8. Manage multiple tasks effectively by thinking through problems, prioritising and time management.
9. Assist in the management of budgets allocated to the department and/or delegated budget for projects and on-going maintenance of systems.
10. Assist in the development of business cases and negotiations with external companies.
11. Development of short and long term plans to enable the best use of time and resource and to develop the remit of the team.
12. Be responsible for the development, production and delivery of a number of performance and business change projects.
13. Act as a formal deputy to the Head of Informatics and as a primary contact for senior managers within the organisation.
14. Provide both proactive and reactive support.
15. Act as a trust representative in meetings with external bodies.
