Position : SEN 1:1 Support Assistant (EHCP Support) Location : Plymouth Employer : Teaching Personnel Start Date : Immediate & Ongoing Job Overview: Teaching Personnel is looking for dedicated SEN 1:1 Support Assistants to work with children who have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). These roles involve supporting students with additional needs, such as Autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges, helping them engage in their education and development. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support, focusing on the student’s specific EHCP goals. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to implement individual learning strategies. Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment. Support students with behaviour management, emotional regulation, and social development. Maintain accurate records of student progress and report concerns to the appropriate staff. Requirements: Previous experience supporting individuals with additional needs (education, care, or social work experience is beneficial). Understanding of SEN conditions such as Autism, ADHD, and trauma-related behaviours. Strong communication skills, patience, and resilience. Knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to student welfare. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Health & Social Care) are desirable but not essential.
