Our Building Services division provides complete Facilities Management of properties throughout the UK, providing mechanical and electrical engineering support, cleaning, catering and grounds maintenance on a planned and reactive basis, using technological solutions to manage our teams in the most efficient ways.
We are looking for a Mobile Handyperson to join the team on our Kent County Council contract.
The purpose of the role will be to carry out Planned Preventive, and Reactive Maintenance and to assist with works to the M&E Services. The role will also encompass Small Works and emergency procedures as required and inclusion in the out of hours call out rota and you would report directly to the Operations Manager.
This is a mobile role covering different locations throughout Kent so a full clean driving license is essential.
You’ll:
1. Have a Self-motivated ‘can do’ attitude which is required to work within the current mobile team.
2. Carry out maintenance and repairs to fire doors, doorframes and any associated fittings & fixtures.
3. Carry out minor Carpentry repairs to doors, door frames, windows and all over aspects of timber constructions and fixing of shelves and pictures and noticeboards.
4. Carry out replacement and installation of locks
5. Carry out general labouring duties including furniture churn, gutter clearances as required.
6. Carry out seasonal gritting to the estate as directed by the gritting plan within working hours, this may be required out of hours due to inclement weather.
7. Semi-skilled tasks as directed by Operations Manager or Supervisor (Helpdesk issued).
8. Ensure ALL maintenance & inspection records are completed and submitted on a timely basis.
9. Provide assistance with other PPM and extra work requirements in adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with HASWA requirements
10. Work with other professionals within and outside fabric specialism.
11. Maintain a professional appearance at all times
12. Participate in overtime on an ad-hoc basis
We’re looking for:
13. Previous experience in building maintenance
14. Manual Handling
15. Willing to develop and learn.
16. Ability to provide efficient management and organisation of workload to ensure effective completion is achieved on time.
17. Ability to work unsupervised and be proactive whilst working across the estates buildings in reporting health and safety issues to the SHEQ team
18. Good Communication skills and an ability to create trust.
