What you will do in your working day
As an apprentice vehicle technician the jobs you will undertake are
* Assisting with replacing major components, etc. engines
* Routine servicing and maintenance
* Carry out vehicle health checks
* General workshop cleaning
It will also included the washing of cars, the renewal of braking and suspension components. Assisting with carrying out in depth diagnostic using JLR dealer level software and carrying out wiring checks. Reading and understanding wiring diagrams.
As an independent JLR specialist we carry out a range of work including fitting accessories to brand new vehicle, service and maintenance to the entire JLR range, overall maintenance & in depth engine work.
This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic apprentice to learn and work on a very prestige vehicle manufacture.

Autocare Technician Apprenticeship Level 2
What will I study?
This apprenticeship will give you the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to work as an Autocare Technician and will include the following:
* Health and safety to contribute to maintaining a healthy and safe workplace to include Tyre legislation and technical information including EU Tyre labelling, Tyre Pressure Monitoring systems etc
* Understand and can carry out vehicle safety inspections and routine maintenance in line with manufactures specifications or approved schedules, company procedures and complete approved documentation
* Understand how to carry out the replacement of components on a specific range of vehicle systems including Steering & Suspension, Braking systems, Battery & Charging systems, exhaust systems and Air-Conditioning systems
* Use a wide range of specialist tools & equipment, mechanical & electrical measuring tools and diagnostic equipment to support fault identification and repair
* Understand the importance of dealing with and resolving low-level customer complaint and how to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers on a range of topics
* Demonstrate and use specific company IT systems within the workplace, including Point-of-sale systems and hand-held devices
* Use a wide range of specialist tools & equipment, mechanical & electrical measuring tools and diagnostic equipment to support fault identification and repair
* You will also produce a portfolio of evidence demonstrating examples of your work throughout the apprenticeship which will form part of the professional discussion during the End-Point assessment
Method of delivery:
* Apprentices attend College on day release for the duration of the two years and train/work with the employer for the remainder of the week.
* At College they will attain the knowledge required to complete the apprenticeship and the work-based assessor will visit the workplace to carry out reviews and practical observations in conjunction with the employer training.
How will I be assessed?
* If required, Functional Skills in maths and English are assessed through on-line tests.
The End-Point Assessment (EPA) will comprise of:
* 2 Part Knowledge Assessment comprising of: Part A – 60 minutes containing 50 multiple choice questions Part B – 45 minutes containing 20 alternate format questions
* Full-day practical observation - includes a range of 5 practical observation tasks
* 60-minute professional discussion based on your portfolio of evidence
