Leader Education are recruiting an SEND Teaching Assistant to work at a large SEND school based in Northumberland. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with SEND on a 1:1 basis. The school caters for young people aged 11-16 years old who have SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs). School based experience is not essential as relevant transferable skills, experience, and personality will be taken into consideration.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4:00pm.
The successful candidate will have:
* Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with challenging behaviour or additional needs.
* A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with complex behavioural needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
* Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond effectively to the changing needs of students and the school.
* A commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people.
* Transferable skills from children's residential settings will be considered.
