Job Description
Swift placements are working closely with a Freight Forwarding business in Selby who are currently looking to recruit for an Internal Sales Executive. The Internal Sales Executive will play a critical role in managing the sales pipeline, nurturing leads, and supporting external sales teams. The successful candidate will engage with both new and existing customers, providing product information, generating quotes, and closing sales. This is an office-based role that requires strong communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to handle a range of sales activities.

To conduct existing client business development / relationship building, maximising the business potential.

Full Time Permanent position
Monday to Friday
Hours: 09:00-17:00
This Role is Fully Office Based.
Salary on offer: £23,000-£25,000 Base Salary + (OTE £4,000-£8,000) + Pension

Small friendly team currently consists of 16 employees and has a Turnover of £5 Million.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Generation:
Manage inbound inquiries, qualify leads, and generate sales.
Maintain and update customer records in CRM.
Prepare and issue quotes, negotiate terms, and close sales.
Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
2. Customer Relationship Management:
Act as the first point of contact for customers, responding promptly to queries via phone, email, and online channels.
Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers to drive repeat business.
Provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
3. Sales Support:
Assist the external sales team by providing and calculating Freight quotes, product information, and administrative support.
Coordinate with other departments (e.g., logistics, finance) to ensure smooth order processing.
Monitor and follow up on orders, ensuring timely delivery and resolution of issues.
Draft and send appropriate sales correspondence.
Follow up calls.
Manage the sales process through to closure.
Ensure that the quotes are completed promptly and are followed up to maximise conversion.
Client visiting where required.
Experience:
1. 1-3 years of experience in a sales role, preferably in an internal or telesales environment.
2. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
3. Sales or customer service experience.
4. Freight forwarding or export sales experience (ideal but not essential as training is provided).
5. Proven success of calculating and submitting quotes and tender submissions.
6. Experience of negotiating with clients and suppliers.
7. Key account management experience with proven success of developing relationships.
8. Good administrative skills.
9. Good numerical skills.
10. Good IT skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
