The shifts are based on 12 hour days and nights which gives you the benefits of only working 3 or 4 shifts per week, but does not involve weekend work. I’m working with a large manufacturing company in Cramlington who are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician. As part of the maintenance team you will undertake planned, preventive and reactive maintenance activities on equipment, tools and facilities across the whole site. What you’ll be doing: Completing planned preventive maintenance of equipment, tools and facilities Continuing to develop the planned preventative maintenance procedures emphasising on breakdown prevention The installation and/or modifying of equipment as required Conducting a root cause analysis of breakdowns and implement effective reoccurrence prevention plans using resource available Working as part of the maintenance team ensuring good communication skills in interfacing with other departments, suppliers, contractors and manufacturers as required Operating access platforms including scissor lifts and cherry pickers Using the PC for accessing information, emails and completing reports Training and mentor apprentices Shifts: You’ll be on a shift pattern involving 7-7 days and nights on a rotation that involves working 10 shifts in a 21 day cycle, with NO WEEKEND work involved. Who we are looking for: Time served mechanical engineer, with experience in a high volume manufacturing environment Good organisational skills, being self-motivated and have a hands on approach to problem solving with the ability to work alone as well as part of a team is essential.
