To provide a comprehensive Medical Secretarial service to a Consultant Urologist, Middle Grade Doctors, Clinical Nurse Specialists and supporting teams within the Urology Department. To work collaboratively with other Medical Secretary colleagues to ensure clinically correspondence is produced and distributed designated timescales. The post holder will carry out his/her duties in such a way to make a direct positive contribution to the organisation. It is essential that the post holder should exercise initiative commensurate with the role and that confidentiality be maintained at all times.

Person Specification
Skills and Experience
* Knowledge of NHS Administration procedures
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Demonstrates an excellent understanding of Patient confidentiality
* Exhibits good organisational skills
* Proficient in use of Patient Administration System (Oasis)
Education and Qualification
* Medical Secretary AMSPAR Diploma
* RSA / OCR III in typewriting / word processing or equivalent
* GCSE or equivalent in English and Mathematics- grade C or above
* Business Administration NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in a clerical environment
Interests and Motivation
* Willing to undertake training to meet the requirements of the role in an ever changing NHS
* Evidence of researching position applied for
